Maybe it's rusted aswell...try heating it up, and then punch it out with a hammer. (seen this plenty of times in workshops)

It would be cheaper and faster if you made electronic dimmer module by yourself If you aren't good in electronics ask somebody skilled for help (like Stu). These electronic components are cheap to buy, all you have to do is find a circuit diagram for such dimmer and made PCB by yourself.

There were not many GTi's made in Cuirass blue IIRC...

This had been a great project, and great improvement for your car Comp The car really deserves a 2.0l now. What kind of exhaust manifold have you used? It looks like ST170 one, but i'm sure 170 is not a straight fit

What kind of scope you got there...is it analog or digital one? Is it Hameg, Textronix or some other manufactuer? As Stu said, give a shout and we'll arrange some pics for you how to proper set horizontal line (mS, uS or S) and vertical volt division line. I'm not sure what did you mean with lambda on the scope?
