  1. as title, looking for a genuine ford low(ish) mileage oil pump in good working order if anyone has one
  2. nice one mate, should go well with the 2 litre. hopefully it won't take too much work to get the engine up to scratch
  3. do it, mate been racking up the miles on the escort over the last couple of weeks and clocked up 992 miles in total. last weekend me and a mate went up to cambridge to visit a friend of ours and ended up going b road bashing for a few hours. we stopped for a few pics http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/cambridge1_zpsb121d75e.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/cambridge2_zps62bbb470.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/cambridge3_zpscf910808.jpg then off to santa pod yesterday, it would have been rude not to put the car up the strip and see what it could do.... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/santapodque_zps250a9ebb.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/santapodstrip_zpsf7f48b67.jpg this highlighted a few small issues with the car that need to be addressed, my best time was 15.06 which i was a little disappointed with but the surface was a bit greasy and was struggling with grip... anyway the car survived the day and drove home faultlessly so over all very happy with it.
  4. nice one mate, always good hearing a new engine fire up for the 1st time
  5. cool mate, i will keep an eye on your thread for updates
  6. yeah it has caught a few people out lol! any joy getting yours running?
  7. cheers bud, it is a bit of a pain, i'm convinced the cover supplied was wrong, theres plently of people out there running the same set up with more power so somethings amiss. on the plus side i've done 505 miles now and haven't broken it up yet so its doing better than the last mk6 i had
  8. few more build pics from this, after the block and gearbox were bolted up i collected the head from my local machine shop, fully rebuilt, pressure tested skimmed, new valve guides, valve seats re cut, piper uprated springs fitted etc etc http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/003_zps9a7403fe.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/004_zps8ba7902c.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/005_zps8a7fa2d2.jpg then fitted the cams and new cambelt, bolted up the blacktop inlet and t3 turbo on cvh maifold etc http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/009_zps332c06b5.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/015_zps8e8b2df0.jpg at this point it dawned on me that i hadn't refitted the oil gallery bung behind the flywheel when i cleaned the block out after machining so gearbox out again which was a bit of a pain. then realised that the blacktop inlet was sitting tight against the brake cross bar so i ended up digging out a rover inlet and homemade adapter plate i had left over from a previous project pic of adaptor plate before it was finished off http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/001_zps4e4fdb76.jpg i chopped the inlet and had a plate welded on to take the frst throttle body http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/001_zpse298001a.jpg also drilled and tapped the inlet for some vacuum pipe outlets http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/002_zps1278c0ff.jpg then bolted it up and finished the pipework and a few other bits and ended up with this http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/003_zps56610682.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/005_zps9bc87fd6.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/006_zps4fdaacad.jpg fast forward to thursday this week, i needed the base map tweaked as it wasn't quite right so took it for a rolling road tune at power engineering long story short, the most we could get out of it was 206 bhp and 220 lb/ft of torque at 7 psi, we tried to run more boost but the clutch started slipping. i think its down to the standard cover not being up to the job so when i get bored with the power i'll fit the helix uprated cover and take it back for another session.I grabbed a few pics while i was there...... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/001_zpsba2a9c39.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/002_zps00f0f2c7.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/003_zps0f0af5fd.jpg thats all for now, thanks for looking :thumb:
  9. good luck mate, hope she fires up for you
  10. looks stunning mate, can't go wrong with 17" softlines on a mk6
  11. yeah 18's mate. what can i say i get bored easily lol!although i won't be taking on another project so hopefully this one will hold my interest for a while. theres still bits and bobs i can improve on so the car is far from finished really thanks mate, i've got loads of build pics i can add to the thread when i have a bit more time rough spec is, silvertop 2 litre block, c20let pistons standard rods, cvh flywheel, helix paddle clutch with standard cover and new ib5 release bearing fully rebuilt head fitted with piper valve springs, mls focus rs head gasket cvh manifold fitted with adapter plate cosworth 4x4 turbo universal front mount intercooler rover inlet modded to fit frst throttle body fitted with home made adapter plate iw158 (fiat coupe iirc) injectors fiesta turbo loom ofam ecu, there probably more bits i've forgotten......and you're not the first person to tell me the bonnets open lol! needed to use the bonnet spacers to clear the throttle cable bracket yes standard brakes but i'm only running in atm so not really a concern at this point. i have a cossie set up to go on before the car is mapped
  12. haven't really been keeping this thread up to date but i managed to get the car running on an OFAM ecu from boostmonkeys today so took a few pics while it was out of the garage. still a few bits and bobs to tidy up but its almost there now http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/001_zps451bbfd5.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/002_zpsafaa82c9.jpg http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/005_zps8381f28a.jpghttp://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/006_zpsed25c05d.jpghttp://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa83/michaeld4316/004_zps0d321b0e.jpg
  13. nice to get a mention, cheers dude yes the car was finished and driven around for 300 miles before i got bored with it and broke it up lol!
  14. cheers bud Is there a thread for this? Quite rare to see a completed/working Zetec turbo i did start a thread but never got round to updating it. its not quite a runner but should be very soon hopefully cheers mate . the fiesta turbo throttle cable bracket is there but not really visible in the pic. in my haynes manual there is a pic of a mk6 escort engine bay running a 1.4 cvh and an efi inlet/throttle body very similar to the fiesta turbo one so in theory that throttle cable should be a direct fit. to get it running i need to do a little bit of wiring, fit an uprated fuel pump and finish making the exhaust system
