  1. Police came back with nothing, not really much they could do if no one seen it happen. My mate who borrowed the car at the time has already got a new wing in for paint, told him not to bother cause he didn't damage it, but new wing should be out the painters by tomorrow
  2. I loved mine, pretty thirsty with me only averaging about 25mpg but that was mostly down the the noise pedal as they sound lovely!
  3. So some t*at decided it was a great idea to hit my car and feck off!! Royally pissed! Punishable by castration if I or the police find them http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/IMAG0495_zpsyf8f8etl.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/IMAG0496_zpsm0zesusa.jpg
  4. Haha is in kilometres got converted to miles when it came to the UK from Japan in 2006, going by the MOTs from its import date it's sitting about 140k ish, plans long term is a younger lump from a mk2, same minus ancillaries so she should be fit for a further 200k then
  5. Not been about for a while so figured i'd check in! Been busy getting her ready for summer! got her out of the dark stinking hole of a garage i was storing her in and went 2's with a mate on a decent garage Began sorting some bad paint done by someone previous to myself, rear drivers 1/4 was pained to fix a little rust at the aerial base, panel was primed, painted and lacquered only on the rear of the panel and never cut in right, attempted to blend it in myself and was not happy at all with the job so decided for just now its getting redone, primer was showing through the top coat and there was a clear line where the lacquer met the old paint..... on top of that mariner blue was pained in celly so no lacquer would have ever been needed. It'll do this summer, long term plans are to give it a full paint but that'll wait till the summers over and give me a chance to get some new wings as im not happy with them either, anyway for just now this is how she is shaping up, all thats required now is a tyre and road tax and its ready to go! This was all done out of a matched rattle can too as i don't have full spraying luxuries just yet! http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11009906_10206143580408914_8782513085387149085_n_zpsg30rjsg1.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/15891_10206143581128932_6446268226038619327_n_zpsxplsqppb.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11025793_10206143581688946_6102702562301171026_n_zps0otwzoik.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11018618_10206143582208959_8701695529221554203_n_zpsfywejnxc.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/10308388_10206143583128982_2210792603207473760_n_zpsvjrrbldo.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11014999_10206172783098963_5647396074892770881_n_zpso27pm9ae.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11021196_10206143584049005_3678100528503012901_n_zpsp9bltkha.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11043058_10206172784619001_7655790342774928608_n_zpsy1ugke8m.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/10995696_10206189277671317_996407268920039172_n_zps7c56cxjv.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/14730_10206172785139014_5581444227303437280_n_zps8tah1fiu.jpg How she sits tonight http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/10350518_10206384490991528_5497307126785275477_n_zps4iinj8ia.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/10402791_10206384491631544_7286730363212066538_n_zpsuyw3l9ro.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/11102603_10206384491991553_2883044754132708531_n_zps6frpouns.jpg
  6. Nice did he go for it? I've not grown bored of mine yet, usually i'm changing cars all the time but I can see this one staying for the duration
  7. Good Choice Sir! Get it blown so its transforming new tyres into slicks, cracking colour too Oil industry taken you to Houston? - about the only thing I can think that links Aberdeen and Houston together, mates dad did the opposite a few years back and shifted back to Aberdeen from Houston and runs I think an inspections company out of Dyce - Brought a nice Ferrari 360 back with him too Houston's where the big bucks is in the oil industry!
  8. Great cars mate, having driven both and owned an Ibiza (more or less a polo) the golf is folds above! Really silky smooth to drive (feels like you are driving something of better quality such as an A4 or something), enough power for safe overtaking, great torque on hand and mines only the 140bhp model. Only thing I'd really say about it is it could do with more toys. Mines has Heated Leather seats with electric lumbar support (OE) Manual climate control (just bog standard AC tbh) Heated and electric mirrors Auto Dimming rear mirror (OE) Traction Control Cooled Glovebox 4 electric windows Auto Headlights (OE) Auto Wipers (OE) A lot of things were optional extras. - marked mine (OE) above Other options are Multifunction Dash/Steering Wheel Sat Nav Climate Control MDI Interface (ipod ect) Xenons Usually if you have heated leather seats you normally don't have climate control or the multifunction dash Usually cars with cloth seats have the 2 mentioned above so must have been 2 separate packages when new - think mines is the winter package Best advice is look around, find what options your mate is after and go with that. Mines is lacking an AUX in solution but that'll soon be taken care of as my mate has just bought VAGCOM Golf 1.4 GT Sport suffer splitting cylinder liners but still nice cars! Golf GT Sport TDI 170 suffer injector issues and all come fitted with DPF filters which suck big time IMO Golf GT Sport TDI 140 don't suffer half as bad with injector issues and DPF filters only started phasing in on small numbers from 08 on (luckily mines hasn't got one!!) I spent a lot of time researching what I was after but didn't want the headache of having to replace a DPF filter at 100k so.... and it kills the MPG, you'll see low 40's running about the doors and high 40's low 50's on a long easy run My 140 minus the DPF usually sees 47mpg round the doors 18 milee round trip commute a day, and on a long run driving a steady 60/70 I once averaged 63mpg overall on a 140 mile trip My recommendation would be a good low mileage 140 TDI - seems to be the good all rounder I got mine with 10 stamps in the book with only 35k on the clock at a good price. Service History is key! Think i've rattled on enough about it but would give your mate a good idea if you can persuade him, defiantly recommend it over the polo
  9. Yeah edition 30's are lovely! if i didnt have to rely on good fuel consumption i'd have one
  10. Still floating about! not posted much of late though

  12. Hi all, not been around much lately, traded the Ibiza in, went sensible, diesel, 50 to the gallon, happy! Far more refined than any car I've had http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0743_zpsj3tmf1sm.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0885_zpsyqxcfcet.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0976_zpsn62g0qlc.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x179/scottg17/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0744_zpsfbtlkkvq.jpg
