  1. cheers scorted,, and the virus came from a mafia wars invite link, been a spate of it as the links are genuine but someone has redistributed it with an extra file, like atm theres another one which only affects mafia wars where by it automatically sends suggested members to 85 random people, etc,, annoying but ultimatly harmless
  2. yeah i have anti virus software and firewalls etc,, hence the alerts that said it was there ) and cheers eetay ill try the safe mode thing, already tried a roll back but it steals the system build date as its last modified/created date, dunno if that affects rollbacks but it was still there, and i know i only just picked it up as it came off a facebook app last week cheers guys
  3. hi folks, just needing some advice with vista,, have been hit with a virus off face book ,, it created a file in the general programs file and i need to take ownership of it to delete the main folder for it, the virus folder name is SGPSA, and it a fastsearch link and seems to overide IE, well it wanted too but couldnt, just tripped the alerts everytime you used IE , ive been able to disable the virus by deleting the main bit from its folder but there are other bits there i cant remove/delete,, says i dont have permission etc,, ive been able to assign permissions to me via propertys/security etc,, but its still not allowing me too remove the folder and contents, etc,, i can rename and move/copy but thats it not overly worried as i can keep an eye on it, but i hear they can rebuild themselves/redown load the missing files
  4. were any prints found inside the car? if not the police wont chase it as they cant get a conviction unless they confess, had a car in storage in a locked garage ( council one ) and it was heavily vandalised, as they had no prints from inside the car they couldnt put him inside it, and all he had and did say was that he looked at the car and must have leant on it, no direct link to the damage so no case and with your car being in a public area.........
  5. personally, i would like to see a coalition between labour and libdems, and have clegg as a " figurehead " pm and brown as the finance minister
  6. lib dem for me,, for both local and general,,
  7. could be anything tbh, but the cooling down period reminds me of a fault i had with a sierra,, turned out to be a broken wire in the coil feed, but with what you discribe it ideally needs to go to a garage or an auto leccy as it could be anything ((
  8. i might be wrong but isnt there something about not tinting over the reflector bit aswell?
  9. better off replacing as a pair and tbh letting the garage fit em, as that way you get a proper warrenty on em,
  10. not quite, academy schools are ones that accept partial funding from the private/business sector in return for specialising in certain areas,, and what you will find is that the lower performing schools join with an academy group to act as a dumping ground and physical skills training area ie building/joinery etc, but you can also have high lvl science etc schools in an academy, back to the karting,,, there should be a local karting centre near you, that would be the best place to start as they usually sell karts aswell,, if they dont, they might know of members that are selling,, also your son will need somewhere to use it and get some pointers
  11. as a cabbie myself i live by the rule of no witness no crime,, emphasis on the word live,,so far in the last 5 yrs ive been lucky,, only had a knife pulled on me twice and both times was just to dodge the fair,, so far not been "fully" robbed,, the job suxs but it suits my avaliable times just to add salt to the wound,, if you are charged and convicted,, you may lose your badge etc and it will definatly go against you when its badge renewal time,, the advice ive been given is to just pull over and toss em out, if they refuse and get argumentative then its a police matter, and you can call em as a 999 special,, for anyone interested in the taxi/private hire trade and also some of the stories that go with it, we have a trade mag you can view online http://www.phtm.co.uk i for one am seriously considering not renewing my badge later this yr as its getting silly out there
  12. what you would save on fuel/tax/insurance from the car would pay for a lot of taxis.....
  13. i think the scariest bit is that the system will be fully automated,, machine takes the pics and sends the fine, it stinks of pure cash generation under the name of safety,, and back to the tacho thing ( not overly sure myself ) its more the restriction on hours thats the killer, as they were on about making it the same rules as for truckers, which i belive is 38 hr a week and 8 hrs a day with breaks?? all that would do i make no cabs avaliable except fri/sat night when the premium prices are on, and even they would go up,, but hey all the fun of the euro laws,, wait till they start on the multi drop drivers,, lol
  14. Isnt that for the public safety anyway? not when you consider that the average owner driver does 60 hrs a week, the issue is that the work is highly stop start, and so conventional tacho systems/rules wouldnt work
