Mk6 Si Ross
anyone removed one of these? How?! Taken about 8 bolts/nuts off and its still not loose! Bloody haynes manual hasn't got pics of the zetec ones in the zetec section which doesn't help and the write up says you only need to undo about 4 bolts! My arse. This is the one under the air box and under the brake servo(?) did the near side front one ok, that was 4 bolts, just can't work out this rear one
sortedford
I guess you mean rear nearside on the box?IIRC theres 1 on the bottom of the subframe then just the ones that go onto the box, it may take a bit of a hammering to move it off the box though. Mk6 Si Ross
yeah the nearside rear one. I'll have to keep looking for more nuts n bolts then! Cheers ian. Any tips for stubborn bolts that don't wanna undo by hand after a gallon of wd40? And i don't have access to air tools.
Mk6 Si Ross
i get this wierd feeling when you back off the accelerator and when you put your foot down......also feels funny when under load going up hill for example. Am i looking in the right direction with engine mounts????
Mk6 Si Ross
got it off in the end.....how can you tell if there's anything wrong with it anyway??? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/Mk6SiRoss/Enginemounts.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/Mk6SiRoss/Enginemounts3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/Mk6SiRoss/Enginemounts2.jpg
KNITERIDER
whats the weird feeling as its a bit vague lol, engine mounts tend to make noises or cause vibrations from what i seen of others.

Am i looking in the right direction with engine mounts???? If you mean it drifts left or right as you put the power down and let off then it is probably the lower arms shot. Engine mounts let the engine hop when you put the power down and let the clutch up, so you'll get knocks and bangs.
Mk6 Si Ross
no drifting left or right, its a undescribeable feeling really which doesn't help on here!!!!! I can't put it into words! its just like a hic-cup or burp really a funny feeling in the driving seat or movement ahead under the bonnet and possibly moving the gear stick too (will check this as i'm not 100%)
