Posted April 22, 200321 yr Hi I have posted something similar to this in the mechanical mods section, but it aint getting many views. I have a 1.4i CFi engine in my escort and am trying to get an air filter for it. K & N told me they dont do a bolt on filter for em and i dont particually want to have to resort to replacing the standard element. Stuball said just cut some of the standard induction piping off and stick a universal on there, is this possible??? Thanks Here are some pics.
April 23, 200321 yr I can assure you they do a bolt on mate cos I had the same engine in my onion and had un on it
April 23, 200321 yr your engne isnt gonna be on display much m8 i dont expect, why not just drill fook loads of holes in the standard airbox and then cover it with a pair of your moms best black tightsworks just as well and sounds the same oh and also remove the standard filter, and whilst your there chuck a load of carb cleaner at that dirty thing maybe some 10k boost also halfords can help with that...
April 23, 200321 yr Author yeah but i got this e-mail of K&N.... HelloThank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately it is not possible to fit a kit where you have the CFi system. Our replacement filter would be an excellent option for improved throttle response. The K&N part number to give to your dealer is E-9091.RegardsDon Marshall So Im not sure. I have these 2 funny pipes that come off the filter. One that goes to the Rocker Box and one to the injector. aint a clue what they do but how would they fit to a bolt on filter???
April 23, 200321 yr rocker hose un you can put a wee filter on and I'm not sure what the other pipe is you're talkin bout mate
