cleaning discs

ok, before i fit my rs2k discs and calipers, i want the discs nice and shiney, as at the minute they are dull,

 

is there anything safe to use to take the dull crap off so they shine, don't want be throwing anything on that might cause them to not grip as much with the pads

 

tried searching for this but couldnt find any answers

you can use some brake cleaner o nthem but the best way to clean them is to use them

well my standard ones look the same and they get used every day lol

mate its rust.. the discs are made of steel they get wet and sit outside

 

if you go do a load of braking then get out before they get wet they will be shiney on the braking surface, you can paint the centers if you like and even the outside if you really want but clean them up with a wire brush first

its a fact of brakes..they turn brown on the centres and edges. actual contact area is shiny once uve done some braking and its dry.

One idea is to spray paint the inside and the outer of the disc once you have taken all of the rust off. that way they dont get rusty

are they brand new discs? make sure u clean the protective coating off

no matey there used discs, just been sitting around in garage for a while
