horizon
bleed all of them, if the master cylinder has emptied or the level has dipped below the outlets then air is in the system. Plus fluid has to be changed every 3 years anyway so they may need doing anyway

reid
ok, i have bled the whole system now, and its hardly made any difference, 2 days i had to go with no car,, urgh, are you bleeding them right mate? how are you doing it? *add, not trying to embarass you or anything pal, just trying to help so we can then check other problems after that. somthing ive learned since starting my business.. on some cars its best to open up the bleed nipple before pushing the caliper back to fit new pads. that way the fluid from the piston comes out the bleed nipple rather than forcing itself back through the pipes to master cylinder - which can burst/damage either the cylinder or the pipes if weak enough. it enough to give symptoms like your getting. if you've bled them right and your still getting shitty brakes then it could be anything along those lines, master cyclinder, a break in the pipes, shitty hoses, burst calipers etc. Edited May 5, 2008 by reid
Cosworth909
dont tke this offencealy but you have got all the pads in the wright way i had that problem wit a car i bought and it was a pad was wrong way round !!!!!!
ryan_gwa
Are you bleeding them in the correct order? As the Escort is a X split system. I.E. bleeding from the wheel closest to the master cylinder out, wont do a thing.

As the Escort is a X split system. I.E. bleeding from the wheel closest to the master cylinder out, wont do a thing. i wasnt bleeding in the right order at first, but did after someone told me to do the brake furthest away etc, dont tke this offencealy but you have got all the pads in the wright way i had that problem wit a car i bought and it was a pad was wrong way round !!!!!! yeh pads in right way round, clips etc all in nicely,
