deano1978
Hi I have just got a new drivers side front door as mine had major rust. I need advice on how to fit it, does it take alot of adjustment or should it just fit it's off exactly the same model and year of car. Also is it easy to change the locks over from the original door to the new one? Any help appreciated.

SLEEMAN
don't think there would be any adjustment needed. plus the door i think is bolted on, there are two hinges, a plug in loom which easily comes off and a small linkage in the middle. you can use pretty much any door from any 1991+ escort, even mk5 ones. trust me they fit as minirotty is using mk5 doors on his mk6 maxi f2! but you can grab one of ebay, or from the scrappy! Markc
the door mite need a little fellting to fit perfectly meaning you mite have to bend it in to shape, also its always best to replace the door apature seal as it would be shaped for the old door and mite not seal properly. fox3
I seem to remember you need a small socket (Torx?) to remove the grub screw from the hinges, then undo the check strap, then the wring and lift the door up to get it off. The door is secures to the hinge via two dowels.
