ECU/Lock Swap

Im looking at buying a lockset from escort tink, with the ECU. Does anyone know if id be able to just swap this with mine and have it work, or is there more involved? Both are 1.8si's

generally if its the same car year your alright. ive got a 97 car running a 95 ecu. i think there mostly the same, as long as its post 95 and i think they change somewhere near 99 or 2000. but not sure. what year is it?

also check the engine code if they match you'll probably be ok

Thanks for the reply. Mines an N reg... The one the locks are from is an S reg. How would i go about getting the engine code? Sorry for the silly questions.

iirc codes on ecu should match? the code represents the hardware/software version

 

codes on ford ecu's are normally something like... ELLE, DARK, DEEP etc
