Right here goes,

I'm after a new car as my ST170 is costing me a fortune running back and forth from the barracks to home all the time,

(the Focus is for sale by the way, has full stainless exhaust from the cat back, brand new clutch, 4 brand new tyres, new years tax[optional] all standard apart from that.)

New car ideas based on the following options please.....

Gotta be derv powered, still has to have some nice power, would prefer a 3series coupe type car so base your ideas on that,

Thanks Muchly,

Rob.

oh yea, its on 38k (motorway miles) 6cd in dash cd changer,

immaculate interior.... will put a for sale ad up in a bit

Do you have only what the focus is worth to spend or do you have more? Do you wanna save some money? How much is your budget.

C2 vts hdi , remapped to 140 bhp :thumb:

plus you ain't going to get 8K for the st170 :)

had a 01 model 110bhp leon a few years ago really liked it, handled very well, nice feed back etc, since then had 03 astra S**t, 04 madza 6 not bad but got feed back as to what was happening, 06 Focus van nice handling car and now a 03 130bhp passat doesn't handle extremely well but would defiy anybody to try and pass me over here on irish country roads.

Changing myself and took a new 170bhp passat out hated it, had new A4 out nice car handles well and well finished inside, BMW 320d drive lovely and handles but inside bland even in sport model BUT it is RWD, settled on a new Titanium X mondeo best alrounder ie inside toys and finish and driver.

All cars above were diesal and if i would recommend any of them in 5-10K bracket it would have to be the leon but try and get it in the 130bhp then you have a good enjoyable car

my mum has a 54 plate facelifted mk1 with the 115ps lump in it and to me, it seems ok to 60 ish then after that it seriously struggles. My 2.0tdi audi is much much better. even at well over 120mph it still pulls well and thats before a remap

well charleys ghia tdci was great, even in 5th .. shes upset the local ST170 owner a few times
VW golf gttdi??

Whats your price bracket?

I was going to look at a fully loaded '54' BMW 330cd for £13k. All the looks of a coupe with the derv power :thumb:
