krayg
hi all, my exhaust manifold is all rusted on the outside - as most are I expect. Can I rust treat it and then paint it to make it looks better and protect it? If so what paint and rust treatment would you recommend? thanks
Muppje
If your worried about aesthetics, then just wrap it I guess....never heard of anyone painting it.

krayg
same as above, high temp paint or what i used was enamel paint which seems to last better than high temp stuff thanks guys. Im not too worried about aesthetics - its only really me who looks at the bonnet, and only then because im doing some work on the car. But I figure it would protect the manifold and having a tidy looking engine is never a bad thing! looked in halfords tonight at high temp paint, will get some of that when im ready to paint it. Just have to decide between silver or black now! im thinking black - I have a silvertop 1.8Si zetec, would contrast well I reckon!
white_van_man
i normally do mine if the manifold is visable, as mentioned above any high temp paint will do the job nicely
