scottg17 Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 Hi, Having to Strip the engine down as Shes got a burnt valve. Started Stripping today..... nearly there.... just i cant seem to get the pully for the water pump to come off..... i took the drive belt off.... and now have no was of securing the pulley, would it be an idea to refit the belt and then lock the cams?... Also a quick question..... how good are dayco timing belt kits? seen one cheapish on ebay...... Click Me! ryan_gwa Posted May 11, 2008 Share Posted May 11, 2008 (edited) Before completely stripping the engine. Lock No1 cylinder at TDC and then you can place the locking pin in the flywheel. Mark all your timing marks up just in case! Makes life so much easier on the re-build. I would a Ford timing belt kit, just my opinion!
