siescort85
Last bight I was driving home and was pulled over by the Police for having no trace of insurance, even though ive been with Flux for 8 months. The police man was fair and gave me a producer, so I have to show my documents within 7 days. The thing is ive found that the one letter is wrong in the registration on my certificate, which in a way shouldnt suprise me because the idiots spelt my name wrong 3 times when I first joined them! Now if I phone up flux tomorrow and get them to sort out a new certificate, will there be any come back from the Police as technically ive been driving with no insurance for a couple months. MikeyRS
is it not 21 days for a producer?? im sure its only 7 days for a licence and 21 for other documents that way you should be able to get the insurance company to send you out a revised certificate before going back
siescort85
Matey just said 7 days to show my documents or it will end up in court so il go by that
t-man
i had the same problem with norwich union. basicly if you can prove it's a mistake i.e incorrect name on your policy you should be alright. the insurance company will never admit they are wrong. you can try ringing them to get it back dated but its very unlikely they will
1pukkadeal
no way 21 days its always been 7 ,suggest you contact your insurers asap should be fine as it was a clerical error
wwwd
Surely if your other details (name, address, car model/year, etc.) match and only the registration is slightly wrong then surely they can obviously see it's a mistake? Take all your other insurance documents along with those details on if you can't get another certificate in time.
MikeyRS
no way 21 days its always been 7 ,suggest you contact your insurers asap should be fine as it was a clerical error if you read the back of the slip, it says 7 days for licence producing and 21 for the other documents, ie insurance / mot etc... i had one a few weeks ago and never handed it in until the 21st day and nothing was said... Lee_2f2f
Happens at C.I.S all the time mate I deal with loads of them calls a day, It is your Insurance company's error so its there fault. Providing your name is on that insurance Document when you take it to the police explain what you have told us, your insurance company made mistakes on your name and you have only just noticed they have also made a mistake on your Registration, therefore its Human error at the insurance company's Also send a letter of complaint to Flux telling them how disgusted you are and that you will be changing company's at renewal and I'm sure they will Compensate for there error. sign and return a copy when you take insurance? No Ian, but with FSA Regulations, all insurance company's follow a strict script when a customer incepts a policy: "you will recieve your documents in 3-4 working days, please read them thoroughly ensuring you have the correct cover you require & that your details are correct." siescort85
Well yes it is, but surely they should check the reg and car to make sure it even exists?! Anyway, I phoned them at 9.01 on monday morning and its wednesday afternoon. I asked for the new documents to be sent straight away but theres no sign of them. When I was with the AA id get them next day if I phoned first thing.
