2 channel basically means a pair of speakers and on some can run a sub too in bridge mode with one pair of rca cables, some modern amps can run more than one pair of speakers as long as its possible to alter the ohms ,4 channel means front and rear outputs to 4 speakers in normal unbridged mode 2 pairs of rca cables ,there are more technical ways of explaning it but thats the basics Edited by 1pukkadeal

im thinking of getting an amp.i know nothing about ice, only what comes in drinks.

ive got a ken wood kdc-w3037 head unit. its got two pre outs, just want music loader not a sub.what sort of amp should i go for.i see some are two channel etc.means nothing to me.

If youm are planning to keep the kenny headunit then i would suggest looking at using a kenny amp to keep the tonal qualities on par.

Should help to improve the quality.

Tonal qualities? Are you suggesting that the flat frequency response of amps is false?

Not in the slightest stu , only suggesting using same brand to try keep the same tonal sound as mixing and matching different brands can influence and taint the overall sound.

Changing the subject now , i have just bought the mrs an R32 and i am looking for a new set of 3 way compos and am keen on the new version of the LF PRO seeing as your a Boston man have you had any dealings with them ?

Its either that or hunt down a set of HEX's but they are a bit thin on the ground now.
