after converting my casbby to run a fiesta turbo engine, i know what to change the box. i dont wana go down the lsd route from a s2 as they have all been ragged. any one know if a later gearbox will bolt strighjt in? i v been told a td one works well
the bolt pattern is the same as that of the IB5 and MTX75 found in a td escort and rs2000

from what i have read in mags , for the rs2000 box you need to change the inner cv joint for the rs one and the original shaft you can use as you wont need to change the hub, the reason being is that a standard escort box has i think 17 splines and the rs one has 23 that why you change the cv joint , i hope that makes sense.

anyone else comfirm this?

yes noel is right but there is also fabrication need to fit the mtx to a mk4 (speak to jano oddkidd @ oddkiddcreations he's done loads)

the mk4 shell uses a cradle mounted box like the mk3 fiesta so the only viable donors for a straight bot in are mk4 escorts and mk3 fiestas... the RS1800 box if you can find one was tougher than the FRST one

lot of bother using the rs2k box in a mk4 from what i found, if you dont want to use an ERST just use any cvh box as they are dirt cheap and change it when you blow it up! you will hear it start to whine before it dies so that give you a few days to sort out putting a new one in. i did that wit my zetec but now with the 2k lump i used a diesel box and to be honest i prefer the 1.4 boxes just for their shorter ratios.
