Gonzo0
Id like to smarten my engine bay up abit for upcoming shows and would like to replace the yellow caps and tanks with some chrome. ESP design and other places are way too expensive so if any could point me towards cheap-ish chrome parts that would be much apreciated

TommyT
Either way you look at it, they don't come cheap for what they are. I personally wouldn't bother. I bought my car with alot of the stuff on it and pulled the receipts out to discover in excess of £450 had been spent. Auto Specialists (AS) is where all my stuff came from (see sig). Best thing would be to give the engine bay a proper clean (steam clean if you must), change the rocker cover, a shiney or well painted strut brace and perhaps some nice colour coded hoses. You can also pick up new header tanks for £20 odd from fords which will freshen it up alot. And clean all the caps and black plastic with a bit of WD40 (or even try painting them). Failing that in a few weeks i may be selling alot of my stuff Or even go down the route Nath took at FITP and use some tin foil Edited May 20, 2008 by TommyT

The nicest motor there The other thing is to just keep an eye on ebay for what is going cheap. Every now and then you will get the odd bargain where someomnes smashed up or breaking their car. You can make your own stainless intake pipe aswell through a company on ebay I have also used called regal motorsports as I think Sammy did but even then it cost over £80 iirc. mykez69
if you want your car to look the part then the bits you buy should not be cheap lol
TommyT
if you want your car to look the part then the bits you buy should not be cheap lol In that case, personally I would worry about the rest (interior, exterior and ice) of the car and then worry about the engine bay which no one will see except for at shows
