air con havoc

Recommended Posts

i finished rebuilding my car a while ago and have a few finishing touches to do, one eing air con. i got it filled this morning (£65) then took it down the workshop to do some bits. i touched the a/c pipe, literally touched it and gas pissed out through where the pipe connects to the pump, i thought, hmmm thats not good, and all of a sudden BANG. the pipe blew off the pump and the noise was amazing. safe to say i ran away cos i think those gases are poisenous lol. anyway, i had a look and found that the part of the pump that the screw fixes into was still attatched to the screw (but not to the pump).

anyway i reckon ill go back to the garage and moan about them not checking the system properly. they reckoned they would but i watched them do it and they checked nothing for security.

still i was considering putting this in the joke section lol. the day i got it sorted the day it blows up. brilliant

I once pressed the bleed button (or whatever it is) by the air filter and got a shot of that damn gas in my eyes! It was mega

Car Aircon is useless, plastic / rubber pipes, they perish and crack, but it works well, as it uses gas which is used in fridges / freezers

and the Gas in the car is R134A if i remember correctly, its not poisonous, it will cause drowsyness, and dizzyness, and aint nice if breathed in, got a potent smell to them also! haha

£65 squid for a regas is a Pee take, considering theres feck all gas in a car, u could buy a whole bottle of it for that price!

ah well, suppose they gotta make money somehow, haha!

but just a note, its not poisonous mate, and yer it damages the o-zone, although the newer Gases which are coming out arnt suppose to :P

is that where you learn't that dance dave

The main problem with ac gas is it's heavier than air which means once it's in your lungs, it doesn't want to come out.

what if you stand on your head :pancake:
