firstly is it spelt tyres or tires??

i dont know if this should be here or mechanical cos its not actually to do with alloys so move if necessary mods :thumb:

basically i got an rs2000 4x4, its got i think yokohama a539 on the back and cheap crap on the front. i havent pushed it round any corners yet but i have heard it starting to understeer so i wanted to know peoples opinions on a good pair for the front,

im looking for either toyo, michelin, dunloop, goodyear, maybe others but im not too sure

cheers :thumb:

i'd get 4 toyo proxes4's from camskill for about £120 delivered

R888s are more than double that and will wear fast on the road and be really pants in the wet.

tyres in england tires in the usa ,4x4s get through tyres quicker although yokos are a nice tyre they wear out far too fast,I cant fault michelins if your budget allows it

you say michelin is good, but does it matter on the model??? im not sure where to find out about them

for michellins : pilot / pilot sport / pilot exhalto

pirelli: P6000 / P zero etc

Goodyear: eagle F1s

toyo: proxes T1R / proxes 4

Federal: 595s supersteel

uniroyal: rainsport 1's

as i say for the money i'd buy toyo proxes 4's or if you can a set of eagle f1's

Exaltos for the ST170. Amazing grip.

P6000 for the Escort, although i'm probably looking at getting a pair of the exaltos for the front due to it locking up too easily(yes i know not braking so hard/more control would prevent this)

Goodyear F1's i had on my blue escort when i fitted the mondeo wheels. good tyre.

eagles f1 gs-d3s or uniroyal rainsport 2 everyday

toyos are waste of money, expensive and soft

Good year eagles f1 gs-d3s

I wouldnt have anything else, really grippy and good in the wet :thumb:

their getting harder to find now, apparently they've stopped making em which is why i got the uniroyals on the xr because they were highly recommended

^ ;(

probably explains why my local cheap tyre fitter no longer has them on their system! and why it took my local garage an extra day to get one in a couple of weeks back

Im running goodyear excellence tyres on my car.

Very good grip (especially in wet due to tread) and excellent tyre life. There pretty much the model below the eagle f1s and alot cheaper.

Michelins are good aswell although can be pricey and not as grippy due to a harder compund being used (excellent tyre life)

Falken's no good then?

cheap and cheerfull budget make but not bad

got khumo ku-31's on front of mine and find them really good for a budget tyre.

get quite good reviews as well.

i have yokohama paradas spec 2 on the front of mine and the grip is excellent i had cheapo ones one before and it would spin up in second but since fitting these it just grips now
