hello people, right i need a new barrel in my drivers door and passenger door because my barrels no longer work, my question is....... if i go to the local scrappy and buy 2 barrels and 2 keys with them will it be a case of stick em in the hole and im off? or do they need coding??? im thick and confused lol cheers stu

Dont forget the ignition barrel. There are sets for sale on ebay.

Scrappy ones liable to be just as worn.

im not going to get an ignition one because the ignition is ok, i'll just have to separate keys, as for ebay, i need it asap so thats out the window, cheers anyway

to work the locks it'll be ok, but you'll have to use 2 keys, is it definately the lock thats worn or the key? If its the lock you can get repair kits

ive tried all 3 of my keys including the master key.

just buy a lock repair kit and fit the new tumblers into your old lock body.

That way nothing changes and you still use just one key.

If you have a friendly for dealer they usually have some tumblers left over they will seel you cheap

or go to a scrap yard and get a half dozen door locks.

Dismantle em and use the tumblers to rebuild your lock.

It is as easy as just getting another barel and a matching key, its onli the ignition that is coded

TBH I loathe having more than one key for a car....

Usually you cant find the right key when its pissing

it down with rain and youre stood with no shelter

Easier imo to fix the existing lock or build a new one to match your existing key.

Especially if you have a full set of keys for the car.

Guess its all down to personal preferences and cash flow.
