Right, I remember there was a thread a while back about people getting Sky Plus for free if they threatened to cancel their subscription.

 

Basically what's happened is our Sky Digital box has been playing up for a while now and it's joke, and the theiving b*stards want 65 quid for an engineer to come out and look at it for us.

 

So what exactly did you guys say to get the free Sky Plus?

 

Should I pretend I'm moving to Virgin Media or something?

 

Any help would be appreciated because I don't want to call up Sky and mess things up!

I rang them and told them their service was too expensive and I wanted to give them their 1 months notice to quit sky,about a week before my subscription was due to end they rang me asking if there was anything they could do to make me stay ,I said what you offering and I got free sky+ with 3 months half price full subscription package

they are prob offering all these deal because virgin media is so much better

or even let them disconnect you ,then a day later your entitled to come back to sky as a new customer and you will get their promotions and freebies

Threatening to cancel will probably get you free Sky+ at least.

 

Cancelling won't... but there are Sky salesmen hang around town centres which will give free Sky+ as long as you take a 1 month Sky Sports or Sky Movies contract with your 12 month Sky+ Contract and they seem to be randomly sending mail shots

That's what we did. Cancelled the Sky which was in the husband's name, then signed up new in my name and got Sky+ with all the extra channels free for the first month and we just paid for the basic month, which I think is normal tv channels plus sky one.

if you cheeky enough to do this you will benefit ,I do it with all the suppliers such as phone /internet etc too

Brilliant mate, just did it then! Called to cancel, and they offered free Sky+, installation and new dish with nothing extra every month.

And a good example... it works!

I told my boss how to get Sky+...and he phoned to cancel, they offered the same deal
