Car is running fine no power loss but when i rev the engine as it comes back down to idle there is alot or rattle from the cams like summet is lose can anyone shed some light on this for me please

But did you confirm its right on the dipstick?

sounds like a few hydraulic tappets have failed mate, best thing to do is have them replaced

 

if oil level is fine, then thats where i wud be pointing at

Would that make it sound like a bag of nails have been dropped in there lol
yeh it would because whats happenin is the cam lobs are slapping the hydraulic tappets, the tappets shud stay in constant contact with the cam lobes

if ur a confident person with spanners and sockets yeh its easy

 

not many tools needed but id replace all 16 tappets

timing belt ket and cam cover gasket

 

i wud say it would take couple of hours at most

Timeing belt was replaced 5,000 miles ago
ive got a cheap set of tappits going.
