July 24, 200816 yr Author http://www.rs2000-16v.co.uk/newsitefiles/exhaust_files/egr%20bits.jpg1) Manifold 2) Pulse air tubes 3) Pulse air valves 4) Air control system 5) Pulse air filter 6) Lambda/hego sensors x2.The exhaust manifold on the rs2000 16v escorts is well known for being restrictive. The reasons for this are partly to do with the construction method of it and also due to the air pulse System (APS). This system is also incorrectly known as the EGR (exhaust gas recycling) system, which it is not, that is a completely different type of system. The APS's job is solely to speed up the heating of the Catalyst in order for it to work efficiently, that's all. This system is only used on the warm up cycle and it does not affect the emissions come MOT time as this reading should be done when the car is at working temperature. Due to this fact many rs2k owners remove this system. Edited July 24, 200816 yr by trev27
July 24, 200816 yr is it in your garage all the time? im in quite a lot in stockton and never see it.
July 24, 200816 yr Author Nope, its out most of the time mate and is a daily driver.Depends what part of stockton your in, i'm in the elm tree farm area.
July 24, 200816 yr looks good. id change the wheels though from looking at the pics, but they may look better close up. also dont fir grooved discs, just use decent ones and good pads like green stuff, the grooves purpose is to remove gases and dusts that build up during braking. if you use the right combination of discs and pads it'll be reduced already, plus the noise they make when you break is almost unbearable lol.
July 24, 200816 yr Author Well, the wheels i want are Team Dynamics PRO 1.2 which are 16" and in black, i think they would look awesome.Did n't know grooved discs made a noise though. Was thinking of EBC discs and green stuff pads.
