I want to set up wireless internet in my house but i'm far too simple when it comes to this sort of thing to figure it out.

At the moment I have just normal cable modem Virgin media internet. So what do I need to buy and what do I need to do in order to set up wireless for both a laptop, and in the future, an Xbox 360.

Cheers for any help

You need a wireless router/modem & a dongle for the laptop (if you look around you can get both as a package)

360, erm not sure but doesnt that already come wireless enabled?

He DOES NOT need a modem :) Hes on virgin.

He needs a wireless cable router.

Example:

And a wireless enabled laptop (or a usb wireless stick).

For the 360 you can get a wireless add on .. or connect to the router via cat5 cable (ethernet cable)

So i buy that router thingy..then what? I wouldnt know how to set it up.

This dongle thing aswell, do virgin do them or are they universal or what?

(And to think I have a GNVQ in I.C.T. :( )

They're universal. Again on ebuyer.

To set the gear up... quite simply... RTFM :D

Just make sure you turn on security, otherwise i'll come along and leech your internets ;)

I can do a visual guide to get connected though when the time comes :)
