cherrybeard Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 take the multiplug out and put a small length of thickish wire in the two holes in the rad socket. dont hold it in for too long. Should come on straightaway with the ignition on.
joexrt Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 right that works is it ok to drive with it taped up bridged for a few dayes till get a new fan switch (i think its the switch in the top hose)
cherrybeard Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Only if you added a fuse and in-line switch to it. Could cause a fire otherwise. Ford should have them in stock for you to get one tommorow. Failing that, avoid traffic and keep a close eye on the guage. If you have to pull over and bridge the fan for a while until the temp goes down then use a piece of wire with insulation in the middle or hold it with insulated pliers etc. Dont want to be making holes in your fingers.
SaMMy125 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) yes its fine to leave the fan plug bridged thats what your fuse box is there for and yeap it will be the top rad hose fan switch Edited July 28, 2008 by SaMMy125
meekstaaa Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Is your thermostat working? Is the pipe hot? If theres no hot waters getting in the pipe then look at the stat
sortedford Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I had to do it for a while before on an old car, just be aware its quite a lot of load on the electrics when starting the car.
