marc_gti Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 hi i want to change my standard rear speakers to better ones but i have looked around this section and there is little info on what size i can get without cutting the plastic chers
marc_gti Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 ok been looking at these http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/SPS-571A_al...ay-speaker.html but have noticed that some are measured 5x7 and others say 6x8!! strange will i need an adapter?
1pukkadeal Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 5x7s are not that good I would get the speaker adaptor that fit below the shelf support that way you can use normal round 16.5 ones
Carl160180 Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Mark mate, those speakers in that link are 5x7's but if you look at the specs it says 6x8 adaptor included, Thats why they may be stated as different sizes on different sites
bongo Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 you dont need rear speakers imo,you sit in the front so all you need is a good pair of fronts to do the job,i have a set of infinity 6510 components with the tweeter mounted in the a pillar.sounds good dont get rears, spend twice as much on the fronts!

marc_gti Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 too true.. i want speakers in the back, its just gonna sound naff it there are not any imo been looking at alpine 5x7 components, hope they fit

At the moment though, I've got upgraded fronts and standard rears because I gave up faffing about with the rears and off-the-shelf adapters that didn't fit
