When i got my gti it was dead etc in side without any music on ,since adding my sub etc ive noticed with the music off there is tapping and loudish rattleing goin on in the bootarea when going over uneven surfaces!doing my head in,anyoneone had these problems?i took the parcel shelf off and the same was happening

sure its nothing you have added, like the amp or a screw still sitting in the boot from when you screwed the sub into the box or box to floor etc. , maybe fell in the wheel recess or something?

 

take trim of back of boot, and see if there is anything rattling around in there

Hi mate.

I had a really bad squeeking noise/rattle,it drove me mad for ages,i thought it was coming from the boot,wd40 became a very good friend of mine...lol.

It wasnt until i opened the back door drivers side(5 door model) and found the door lock to be loose,tightend that up and it sorted the problem.

Hope its that easy.
