I had a timing belt idler pully fall apart on me an ripped it to pieces, i obtained a new one fitted it and re-done the timing,

 

Problem is now the car won't start, it turns over but will not fire up, it keeps wanting to backfire and it sounds as tho the starter moter is jus spinnin but not doin anything.

 

Has anyboy had same or similer problem?

Why makenumerous posts asking the same thing ?

Chances are if the idler pulley disintegrated you bent a valve or some other engine component.

Have you done a compression test ?
