jlawie
Bought some cossie alloys a few months ago now. The front face is all clean and cleaned up no problem. Its the backs im having problems cleaning. I've spent ages using a nail brush trying to get the dirt off but just wont budge. So now im left with some clean silver spots and some that are almost black. Any ideas what i can use to clean them. Maybe a stronger cleaner?? Suggestions please. Trig
Megs wheel brightener is effective on tough stuff, or you could go with neat Bilberry, that usually gets most things and isnt acidic.

Trig
Bilberry is, I have used it neat to take underseal off wheels, which it did. Megs wheel brightener is a bit more effective, but it is acidic and can be harmful, whereas the Bilberry is acid free, so a much safer bet. It can be diluted to 10:1 and still work well, so a litre bottle should last quite a long time if you put some protection on the wheels. In fact, once properly cleaned and protected (Carlack NSC and CG Wheel Guard), I havent used wheel cleaner, the normal shampoo solution used for cleaning the bodywork has been fine for cleaning a fortnights worth of brakedust off. bailes1992
Right theres a chemical by meguiars called Wheel Brightner. Now it's not avalible on the high street only online...http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-t...r/prod_325.html Another chemical is Bilbery Safe wheel cleaner which I use...http://www.glossmax.com/store/index.php?ma...products_id=198 Once you've gotten a good quality wheel cleaner you need a good set of brushes. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-t...h/prod_391.htmlhttp://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-t...h/prod_480.html Then you need a good wheel wax...http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-t...d/prod_197.html Clean the alloys with the wheel cleaner (preferably one of the above) Dry them, apply 2 coats of wax over two days. Then do this every 3 months (or earlier if you want) then in between just use a mild car shampoo just to keep them clean
