Organisation was poor, as if you try to lead 100 cars through Blackpool Illuminations at peak time on the first Sunday of the school holidays. We turned up at 6:25 only to catch the end of the convoy. I wasn't really interested in convoying along the promenade, wanted to see more of the cars that turned up so was hoping there would have been more time at the meet location. Seeing as this was for charity, the long people were actually out of their cars, the more donations could be made. But leaving to convoy down the lights so early, at the same time that families that came for a day out in Blackpool, once they had eaten their teas and wanted to view the light before driving home, it just seemed bad timing, it literally brought Blackpool to a stand still.Couldnt agree more Dan, think the night was cursed from the beginning. Left my house at 5:00pm. I was late meeting Mike due to one of my rear lights being out, fixed that. Met Mike and we drove upto the meet point which Mike did his usual trick and drove straight past, so i took the lead up the motorway and back down to meet Dan, then i took the wrong turning off the roundabout and took us the wrong way. We finally got to where Dan was and we drove to meet the convoy. As Dan said the convoy was pulling away when we got there which was a bit shitty as there was some nice cars there and i, like dan, was more interested in seeing the cars rather than the lights. Me and Dan didnt join the convoy, which was all broken up at this time anyway, so we decided to go to other side of the lights and drive back down past the convoy to get pics, how wrong was we Dan?? When we got to other side the traffic was just as bad. We waited around an hour or so before even getting to see the lights, by this time Dan had enough and fucked off home. MIKE W Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 I agree Dan from what i seen it was an absolute shambles, im glad that wasnt the whole reason i was going because i would of been very disappointed. As soon as we got to the front and seen the traffic we turned off and cut down the back streets to the other end and parked up and had a walk around Blackpool.... On the upside me and my passenger had a good night, it appears we were the only ones lol but yeh if i had made the journey just for that Ford run i too would of been dissappointed.... Yeh Mark its 1-1 on the fcuk ups mate....Lol at me ringing you "Errr Mark, i have done it again aint i?" .......If it wasnt for the fact Dan was waiting on his own we would of just carried on and not gone back, you just remember that Dan, heart of gold me It was rather cold walking along that front though but better than sitting in a traffic jam lol.... think i got home about 12am....
