scottg17
was coming home on friday night from work. came off of the central reserve to go into a junction and bang.... was hit in the passangers side by a honda CRV at 60/70mphi looked and double looked before going and i did not see that 4x4 at all... it was getting dark and i can only assume that she had no lights on Still.... regardless of whos fault it really was wether mine or hers im just glad no one was hurt. i have been given a caution for careless driving but in all honesty i still prefer that to anyone being hurt.... at the end of the day accidents happen, it happens to people everyday the insurance have found me at fault (and im only 3rd party so total loss but thats life) going by the evedence on the car and the fact that i was in the line of traffic with is fair enough as no one can prove otherwise about the lights the 4x4's lights... so i think the experience will make me 1 million times more cautious... im looking at things like this... due to my age a report is sent to the fiscal to decide on what next. police reakon things are in my favour as no one was injured im totally gutted but all said and done its just steel and plastic so i dont care about the money and loss side of things as there is no cost on a life. these things are sent to try us all the pics http://file039b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/11/17/01/3854661060a9436588578l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/11/17/01/3854661060a9436588634l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/12/large/2008/11/15/12/3854661060a9421950940l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/12/large/2008/11/15/12/3854661060a9421951008l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/12/large/2008/11/15/12/3854661060a9421951065l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/11/17/01/3854661060a9436588477l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/11/17/01/3854661060a9436588543l.jpghttp://file039b.bebo.com/11/large/2008/11/17/01/3854661060a9436588603l.jpg Edited November 17, 2008 by scottg17
Craig855S
OMFG,never imagined a lane change could be so disastrous, how fast were u going? was it not a gentle scrape that u could have pulled away from when u felt the contact? See if u can buy the car back and break it for spares to make a few quid on it (Buy back should be less than 150 quid, make that back easily)
TommyT
Ouch. Unlucky mate but at least you are dealing with it maturely. Cant see police prosecuting to be honest.

See if u can buy the car back and break it for spares to make a few quid on it (Buy back should be less than 150 quid, make that back easily) Side impact..... i was pulling into a junction off the main trunkroad. just a sliproad between two directions of traffic.... crossing into my junction i got hit and spun facing the opposite way and the jeep that hit went onto its side next to me. could have been worse than it was though dnt want anything else to do with the car... just letting the recovery boys scrap it and take it off the recovery bill ECT. i want no further dealings with it the stress its caused me i have had a drive in my uncles car the next day just to get me driving a car again so i dont hide under a rock for ever... face my fears face on Edited November 17, 2008 by scottg17
hamspeed
Jeez another crash posted today. Like you said it could have been a lot worse and at the end of the day its just metal, the main thing is everyone walked away. If I were you i'd get yourself down to the recovery yard and at least take some of the stuff out that you could sell on. I sold my Escort on to the recovery company when it was written off as they wanted £350 for moving it, or £100 + the car. So I got myself down there and took out the Recaro's, the headunit etc and it recuperated most of the costs. Everything that can't be recycled goes in the skip unfortunatly, just a thought!
