Charley Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Meestaaa was the organiser of this social, everyone was due to meet at the pub for a swift drink at 6pm onwards but by the time we arrived everyone (bar Steve and his mate Chris) were already over at the Go-Karting down the road. As usual the closest ones were pretty much the last ones to arrive - myself and Mutley!!! We went in and the guys got their forms, filled them out then while we was watching other people go-kart we got told off for just standing around when the guys should have been getting changed - typical men always taking their time Then in true Mutley form he managed to get this picture: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s63/mutley-st/evomeets/25112008.jpg Not long after they got called into the briefing then out onto the track for the practice lap! Dave being the most experienced and the lightest child of them all, managed to get the fastest lap We all think he had spent the day there practicing! Danzetec Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Balls, just typed a report up but will cut/paste it here Firstly I'd like to thank Meekstaaa for organising the meet and I hope we can make this a fairly regular event The start of the evening was a 15 lap practice session followed by a 15 lap qualifier, the fastest time gaining pole, as predicted Meek did very well 0:27.77 - 33 Dave (Meekstaaa)0:28.82 - 26 Steven (onehotminute_191)0:28.93 - 30 Dan O (Danzetec)0:29.02 - 32 Andrew O (my youngest bro)0:29.03 - 31 Chris O (my 2nd youngest bro)0:29.39 - 27 Andy (Mutley)0:29.63 - 29 Chris B (Steves mate)0:29.63 - 28 Matt (Mattius) So we went on to the 30 lap final, which sounds a lot but is done in 10 mins From the start Meek pulled out a lead with Steve and myself pushin hard to keep up, luckily for us Meek got held up when it came to lap my brother Andrew O. He didn't like to take the conventional racing line but instead took a centre line and closed any gap on each corner making overtaking fairly hard I managed to gain a position and was catching Meek toward the end but it was too late as he took the chequered flag In the bar after, the marshall announced that Meekstaaa had incurred a penalty for a black flag - he looked completely devastated but luckily he was only having a wind-up! So heres the results 1st - 33 Dave2nd - 30 Dan O3rd - 26 Steven4th - 32 Andrew O5th - 27 Andy6th - 29 Chris B7th - 28 Matt8th - 31 Chris O We had a bite to eat and a chat in the harvester after and agreed we will have another meet early next year - can't wait!
