gutted about the car mate and happy to hear everyone escaped serious injury.. but 60, in low light, down a country lane...with kids in the car  personally my general speed drops at least 10 mph when i have the kids in the back.

gutted for you mate but doing 60 down a country road your kinda asking for it....

Why was he asking for it? The speed limit was a 60 and thats what he said he was doing. I hate the way people suddenly turn into driving critic's once someone has had a crash. Dont think anyone ever plans to go into the back of another car.

by his own admission he couldn't see bugger all, so 60 was miles too quick......think the man himself will admit this, and feels very lucky :)

basically i was going down the country lanes at national limit (60mph) and due to low light, couldnt see bugger all

cheers bud.

I would like to point out that I COULD see, the reason I had a momentary "blip" is becuase my eyes didnt adjust quick enough from dark to light (kinda like putting the light on in a dark room) as i suffer from photophobia

I do admit I was in the wrong (obviously as I hit the back of someone!!) but I didin't plan this nor did I want this :(

apparently the road I was on is renowned for accidents (a4097) and theyre on about lowering the speed limit there to 50 (so I find out afterwards)

I don't have the car back as it really aint any use to break, am thinking of getting a safer car, like a mondy or focus so I don't need any escort bits any more!!

because he had kids in the car and it's a country lane ( which he later corrected himself) so imo he couldn't possibly know what was coming around the corner say... i dont suddenly become a critic mate, when i go down lanes i never ever go past 40.

if he'd have said in the first place it wasn't a counrty lane and that he could see i bet half of us wouldn't have given him stick.
