**caz**
Right guys I thought I would post these up ... They are old pics! I was in this saxo on the 1st of may 2003! Driving back into Chelmsford heading towards the army and navy and about to go over the flyover! As we reached the bottom I looked up (from the back) to see 2 people walking over it! Music was pretty loud so I had to shout at vicky (the driver) who didnt hear me, so I shouted again...a bit louder! She then noticed....slammed on her brakes which inturn locked up facing the concrete blocks at the entrance to the flyover which we inturn hit! We went up the concrete hit the pillar and rolled the car 3 times up the flyover and slid back down on the roof!! Me and Chris were in the back both wearing seat belts...Vicky and Wayne were in the front ... not wearing seat belts.... At the the beginning...Chris was asleep until we skid....opening his eyes to concrete! I remember rolling but then thats it! I came round to Vicky shouting thru the rear quarter window at me to get out! Im hanging upside down on my seat belt!! Funny thing was my first thought was "Im in a 2 door car how the fcuk do I get out" ....not the fact Im upside down!! I then kinda came round a bit more...tried to find the seat belt release and went head first to the floor (roof) I then crawled out of the rear quarter window... I suffered a lil whiplash, and quite a bit of glass in my hair! Vicky the driver had a grazed elbow...where her window was open! Wayne(front passenger) took the brunt of the collison..he had a crack in a bone in his chest (and no not a rib!) lol Chris had a headache...as he was asleep he was limp! so was ok! We were all very lucky to walk away! The police told us if we had hit 2cm to the left...none of us would be here! SO yes...VERY lucky!!! So enough of me rambling on about it here are the pics................... http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m72/caz2003uk/Image18.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m72/caz2003uk/Image19.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m72/caz2003uk/Image28.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m72/caz2003uk/Image30.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m72/caz2003uk/Image39.jpg

**caz**
Thats nasty. That saxo looks like it took the brunt quite well considering. The pics we took the next day when it was in the recovery yard told a different story! The Near side front wheel which took the main impact was actually 3 foot back from where it should have been! The windsreen scooped down into the passenger seat...inches from where my mate waynes head was! Surprisingly the sunroof didnt have so much as a scratch on it! The rear window was also still intact too! Unfortunately I lost the next day pics cos I moved...and ya know what moving is like! x

wwwd
Looks nasty, glad you lived to tell the tale! It does annoy me how most pedestrians believe they're untouchable and think they can walk anywhere
Craig855S
Big crash that. Why did ur friend not see the people crossing the road? was there not adequate time to stop if she was paying attention? Glad ur all ok
**caz**
Big crash that. Why did ur friend not see the people crossing the road? was there not adequate time to stop if she was paying attention? Glad ur all ok The flyover over this roundabout is a one way single lane one. It is not for pedestrians it is only for cars and motorbikes. There is no pavement for pedestrians to walk on! It was 1.30 in the mornin so it was dark aswell and you could only just see them coming over the top of it where it started to slope down. She explained after that she was worried about hitting them at the top and ending up coming off the top of the flover...which would have resulted in a much worse situation, so she panicked and broke at the bottom unfortunately ending up hitting the post cos the wheels locked up! meekstaaa will be able to vouch for the fact that pedestrians cant use it! I think she made the right decision at the time to try stopping at the bottom! x
meekstaaa
I Thought you meant they were crossing the road by the entrance/exit of the flyover not actually on it. It isn't designed for pedestrians its barely big enough for a car. What a bunch of twats Edited January 22, 2009 by meekstaaa
blue_saloon
i second that as i use it every day, i went over it in a transit once and that was scarely tight ive seen loads of accidents on that bloody bridge and they seem to get worse, especilly when you get two cars head on! not good, that has happen to many times, glad youre ok
