Lee_2f2f
This happened about 2 weeks ago, We just went to get the stuff out of the car as the garage have written it off (not suprised) well me and my mate Andrew were driving up London road by Mcdonalds hotel (Mike & Dave might know where I mean) when Andrew undertook a Taxi who was stationary, as doing that, the car Slid on Ice, Andrew was doing about 40... yes 10mph over the limit I know, but I was not the Driver.... anyway.. the car slid sideways. mounted the Kerb and then Smacked into the lampost on my side.... Did not really remember much after that apart from Andrew being breathalised by the police and then being put in a neck brace and sent in an ambulance, obviously i went with. Andrew had a CT scan which shown that he had only got whiplash, at first the hospital thought he had broken a bone in his neck but luckily he hadnt. For myself on the other hand, my head smacked against the window, so I only had a minor head injury but I had to get checked just incase there was any bleed on the brain because I was suffering one hell of a headache... 2 weeks later... we go to get Andrews stuff out of the car (which he calls Mildred)... and I must admit, I dont remember the damage being this bad. but I do remember it being Jammed against the lampost when I got out. Andrew is getting a summons and done for Driving without due care and attention... his dad is telling him to dispute it because the police did not witness the accident so doesnt know how they can do him for DWDCAA. Anyway... the Car.... Poor Mildred http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred4.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred6.jpgAndrew in the background looking at his loss.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred3.jpgLuckily he was not carrying anyone in the back... look how bent in the car is, and even the seats are bent.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred2.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/2f2fescort2f2f/Mildred5.jpg I know its a Clio, but it was tastefully Modded..... and was a good runner. until he did that..... Im just glad to be alive, apart from that bad headache when it happened. it was Unbearable. Edited February 11, 2009 by Escort_2f2f
dutchkev
the problem is that he undertook a taxi, so the taxi driver was more than likely a witness and plus as you already said he was speeding. i'd take it on the chin and take any slapping rather than fight it as that could make it worse in court glad youre ok buddy, especially as it wasnt your fault
JC
Glad your ok, Driving without due care and attention hardly surprising if as you say 40 in a 30mph

Taxi driver drove off though? he was speeding and admitted it to the police so im guessing that could be the result of the summons.. thanks, im glad im Ok too, at the moment I cant even get back in my car.... my nerves are shot, did not think it would bother me. its my first bad car accident, and it has knocked me a little, I keep remembering the bang. hamspeed
Call me an idiot, but how did he manage undertake a taxi if it was stationary... Surely it would have to be in the other lane or in the middle of the road? Main thing is you both got out relatively unscathed... Sometimes luck plays a big part, imagine if you'd impacted a few inches further forward!
