Tez162003
not really much of a thread but for the last 6 - 7 months ive had this slight shake at the front of the car from time to time at 40 - 50mph. i always thought it was just me slowly killing my wishbones.... again Anyway decided to change the track rod ends, drop links and cv boots yesterday, and while at it look over the wishbones, all to eliminate this shake well cv boots as one was split. done drivers side fine, bolts were a bitch but otherwise fine. started on the passenger side, took the drive shaft out the gearbox, and bang there was my problem..... http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/tez162003/HPIM1953.jpghttp://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/tez162003/HPIM1955.jpg yep somehow wrecked the cv joint, must have been like this for sometime lol. so 1:30 and motor factors shut at 2, lol. DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE lol luckily i got new joint and cup thingy that it sits in, and bugger me getting the bit out the gearbox was a ballache! http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/tez162003/HPIM1956.jpg anyway got it out eventually! new joint fitted. done! http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/tez162003/HPIM1959.jpg feels sooooo much better now, the fact its been knackered for so long i was used to it, so smooth now good times p.s is there a specialist tool to remove the thing out the gearbox? i had to use crow bar and a hammer

escortedal
i use a leg from an old puller set to remove the inner cv from g/box,put the wee lip behind cv and tap gently with a mallet..works all the time
