Leeroy_Si
Just got back from the body shop after getting a quote for some work.Work includes:Fitting and painting skirts and spats (the fibre glass ones)De-rusting back wheel arch drivers sidePulling a small dint out of passenger side rear wingAnd a few other little touch ups. I was quoted £380 (£295 labour, £70 paint and £15 for a tube of bonder) Is this a good price, or would i be getting ripped off?All views appreciated! Pelles
bit expensive imo, some places charge around £450 for full kit fitting and respraying, shop around, if the bodyshops top quality, then you pay for the quality of there work, if there just average, then i think its a tab bit expensive, you should look at around £300 id suspect... and £70 quid for paint? lol, thats some expensive Shite if its just a standard colour, radiant red paint starts at £20 per litre, to £50 for the top range, and 2 sideskirts is a lick of paint. Leeroy_Si
Just been to another body shop, and they quoted 250 for the same work. Compared to the first one, it seems a bit cheap. I know the first guy will do a proper job, as he has done jobs for my dad in the past. I'm thinking i may be best trying to get the first guy to come down in price slightly. What do you guys think?? cheers
Dean-o
some places charge around £450 for full kit fitting and respraying, thats a bit cheap, which i was paying prices like that, but then wud the quality be as good
Jordan
Fitting and painting skirts and spats (the fibre glass ones)De-rusting back wheel arch drivers sidePulling a small dint out of passenger side rear wingAnd a few other little touch ups. I had... Fitting and painting skirts and spats (ESP ones)Colour coding of bumpstripsPulling a couple of minor dints outNew rear light and fittingA few other minor touch ups ...for £180.00 mate. First quote is TOO HIGH imo, Ian only thinks its a fair price cos when youve got and spent as much money as him you loose all sense of "real costs". dansGTI
it depends a lot on how good the skirts and spats are. if they're from ESP, no worries. if not, they mite require quite a bit of fettling, have you tried offering them up and seeing how well they fit?? i bought some from an un-named company and they were utter bollox, i think they would have fitted a Transit better! utter crap so beware
Leeroy_Si
I got the skirts and spats on mail order from pro-sport uk, and they seem to offer up reasonably well. I'm up in West Yorkshire, anyone know of any decent trust worthy body shops up here. Like you say i dont want to get the work done only to find its been bodged, and then have to pay for it doing again!!
