right i got hit by a car 2day while car was parked and i wasnt inside it

this guy has said he will do it privatly how much will i be llooking to get off his for wing repair front bumper and new angel lights ?

 

what should i do

 

 

Well insurance will write it off.

 

pattern wing - £30

Pattern bumper £50 (genuine used - £30)

 

2 panels for painting - 150-250

Fitting of wing £30-50

 

Headlight set (sold in pairs) £110

 

£400ish!!!

if he has offered to pay, and you have all his details, then he may stay true to his word. wait till monday (as you have mentioned) and if he doesn't pay up then contact your insurance, giving them all his details.

 

you could settle "cash-in-lieu" on his insurance and get it done privately. its not a difficult repair and the scuff on the headlamp may polish out, depending on how deep it goes

Only thing thats going to sting you is the paint job mate, my brother has just had a smash in his astra mk4, £100 for pattern bumper and wing, £150 painted and fitted but thats only because i know him so it might be a lil bit more for you. and headlights £140 off ebay(angels)

well im still gonna claim new lights cos the scratch is deep its gotten worse 2day as i had to drive to work so now the bumper foam as torn and is now litterly come off so i have no way to get to work now...

but if he dosnt will it be a complete write of cat d type?

It will either be Cat D, or Cat C (needs VIC test). You might get lucky.... and it not written off. but 2 panels and a light on a £750 escort...

You might get lucky and it wont get written off (if you go through the insurance). but when its that much damage and the insurance companies will value a non RS mk6 as a max of 750 I'd have thought

 

 

Basically keep ya fingers crossed he does want to settle in cash!!!

well i wnt and saw the guy yesturday hes given me £200 cash so im gonna look around for front bumper light is ok can get colour out easily and my uncle works ay garage and he gonna sort out the dent and spray so should have a lil left in my pocket as well

 

but major thanks to caz for helpin me out

 

so did get summin out of it but much
