mykez69
2 buckets, both with grit guards, one for washing with, and other to rinse in a decent wax safe shampoo, i use megs gold class shampoo dont use a sponge, cheap and terrible skanky things, get a wash mit, dry with microfibre drying towels, dont leave it to dry standing, you get water marks protect with a wax, hard wax are what i use, megs mirror glaze 16# i have tried a few liquid waxs, i don't reallylike them, but that my personal opinion for a more detailed cleanse, you can clay after you have wash the car,to get rid of car tree sap etc, you car isn't clean just washing it then wash the car again after claying with fresh water, you could get some glazes, like mirror glaze finish for example, i used the poorboys one the other day and it is great gives a reallynice wet look finish to the paint again you need to protect that with a sealant or wax please note, the wax doesn't give you a shine, the prep work before waxing does
Trig
For a proper intensive clean I do the following: 1. Wash using the 2 bucket method, with a lambswool mit (no grit guard, Im in the as much harm as good camp on those) 2. Dry using a microfibre drying towel and some Megs Last touch as a drying aid (but next I will be getting Dodo Juice Time to dry) 3a. If the car has previously been waxed, I put another layer of wax on (which wax depends on what colour the car is and what mood Im in) 3b. If the car isnt waxed, or polished, go round the car with clay then a quick polish using Menz 106FA, followed by a pre wax cleanse with Dodo Juice Lime Prime lite 4. A layer of wax on the car 5. Wax the wheels and dress the tyres 6. Remove the wax from the car and wheels 7. Dress the plastics You dont need to wax every time, just a top up once every couple of months, most washes I do are just steps 1 and 2, once all the hard work has been done you dont need to do it every time, just once in a while. Most of the time it takes me 25 mins to clean my missus car, because all the hard work and waxing makes it much easier to maintain.
