robbo67
Hi-Are there any auto sparks on here? I`m after tapping into mk6 1.6 Zetec wiring to add the EDIS module from a mk5 xr3i. Just not sure where to start!I dont want the hassle of swapping the looms! The module only has 12 wires running from it . -Rob
Stu
EDIS modules have two wires from the crank sensor, two the coilpack, two to the ecu and power.. and possibly tacho too... http://www.bgsoflex.com/mjl/sum4.jpg (for the pin-out of the module, ignore the megajolt stuff)

Would I be right in thinking that if I removed pins 57,56,36,16,04 from the mk6 ECU plug and replaced them with the same from the mk5 and the EDIS as well as the crank sensor plug and the coil plug and the tacho wire would the engine now run as it was intended to? Or would I have to swap any more wires around like when a mondeo engine and ECU is fitted to an escort?thanks once again-Rob

Stu
I don't know the actual pin numbers on YOUR ecu.. but just re-direct the crank sensor and coil wires to the edis module away from the ecu.. and give the edis module a switched live.. et voila!
