ScORTED
as above!!! yeah it'll make it as long as its all in good order when you set off, and don't sleep in it, it'll be rank and uncomfortable,,, get a tent from halfords for £50 with sleeping bagand airbed etc
fekyo
yeah was planning to do the conversion then drive for few weeks which will include the drive back from carlise from jdm and also the trip to dover, so any niggles should have hopefully (or hopefully not!) already popped up by then. wezcort
i would love to do that (if i had the money) where abouts in bulgria are you going? i have a friend that lives there...as far as insurance goes your normal insurance will cover it, if you have EU cover. yoou will have to by car tax at the broder of bulgria, which as long as you have a 2.0l or less is bout £50ish for a 6 months butt i am told you can get it by the week.. sidrick
I never enjoyed long distances in the Escort. I found them rather uncomfortable. I'd love to do that in another car though
fekyo
cant remember what its called, were going to work on my mates dads houses and hes giving us one! and sidrik i personally dont mind long distance in escort mk6, think longest i have driven in one is to london from where i am, about 3 and a half hours...i know this will be for weeks but still i think i can hack it! im scared to work out how much this will cost me...and i cant afford it...im gonna try get bank loan
KNITERIDER
dead money really getting a loan for a road trip...saying that if you get a house out of it that should pay the loan off and then some shouldnt it?
fekyo
im planning on getting about 3k, that should fund the engine transplant plus trip, im gonna be doing some working along the way, plus im guarenteed paid work when im there. 2 bed property in this part of bulgaria is aparently only worth around 2k..... dont quote me on that...but i know its in the middle of nowhere, around 1.30 hours to nearest 'big' town and its not a 'road trip' as such, its me doing something with my life. why not get a loan, average person owes 14k, what if i got hit by a bus tomorrow. plan;-get out of england, go to work in bulgaria with my best mate and his old man for a few years at least.-take escort and have a shed load of fun zig-zagging across from france to bulgaria!-get hideous, en route. big plans little funds atm though...plus my legs still in cast, and cars sorn so cant do alot at the mo....
