The Shaunster
On friday i gave a lift to 4 mates to college in car, which is the most people i have had in my car at once since putting the 15's. I noticed that any bump or lump in the road that i went over, it made a loud creeking noise, which was the wheels rubbing (i know this because i only hear it when there are weight in car) i was total gutted how 1 inch upgrade in wheel size can make all this difference and i was planning on getting 17's because i was told they would go on ok wiv every fing else been standard. 1. What i am gunna need to stop the rubbing for both 15's and 17's ? 2. Are there any springs i can buy that will harden it up ? 3. What is the cheapest way to over come the problem ? Cheers lads your help is much appreciated
Rich
fcuk*d suspension m8 i had it on my 1.4, had to take everything out just to drive it towards the end. Cheapest way is to put the smaller wheels back on

Scuba Matt
Agreed mate ,I put 17's on mine with no problem even when loaded . Slight rubbing inside on full lock but that's because my wheels are wider. Sounds like somethings wrong with your suspension.

Rich
shocks and springs m8, but u will be doing that anyway cuz u will want ur car lower so just get the full kit instead of the springs, cuz if u put shorter springs on them shocks it will rub with no one in it
trotter
hi ma8 it could be spings but i think the off set or the j of your rims if you run 7 1/2 j rims thay will rub you should only run 7js on the escorts you can run 7 1/2j but you have to change the off set i run a alloy and tyre bay and fitted the for about 14 years see it all the time m8
