Rich
i think it was later than that cuz i dont have one, more like 2001 i think, as my mums car doesnt have one either (2000)
JSX
thats great, means i can put a light in rear window as fog light then without havin to worry about it interfering with 3rd brake light, cheers mate.

JSX
i just loked on the road lighting laws/acts and aslong as its offside/centre and atleast 10cm away from brake lights and some other crap its fine, cheers for the advice though. which means i can flush the tialgate if i get a 92-95 escort and just add new fog in window as it dont hav 3rd bake light to interfere. But i could do what somone else has suggested is to change one of the reviserse lamps to a fog lamp, coz u dont hav to have 2 reverse lamps, just the one. John
u don't need to have any reverse lights at all, they are a non testable item
JSX
surely the traffic lapd would do you for it though even if the mot ppl dont, actually your right, it says there optional, bloody hell didnt know that, thats bloody odd if u ask me, but great, i think changin a reverse light to fog light would look far smarter than a fog lamp in window, cheers. GTI TIL I DIE is right (thats cos hes an Escort encyclopedia ), it must be within 10cm or something of the other brake lights.
dansGTI
worded that wrong: must be at least 10cm away but not further than 30cms from the ordinary back lights or something like that.
