not alot to say really, its our fault, Lights went green, guy in front slammed on because the person in front of him had not moved off from the lights... didn't stop in time... *SMACK* towbar goes straight through the grill.....

Radiator is pierced from the slam panel, bumper is cracked, grill is broken and snapped, upper grill has bent part of bumper, headlamp clip broken & onboard computer no longer tells temperature.

as usual..... the guy got out straight away, the first thing said was!!!!!! "ow my neck" f**king w@nker.

told the insurance, the car is getting picked up sometime this week and going to Salford... :(

Gutted... but as Pete said, its just a piece of metal at the end of the day.

I had the same thing with my Astra, cock in a audi pulled out and I had to swerve into the back of a parked works van, thank god for ABS is all I say, only lighly hit the towbar dead on in the middle of the bumper.

later closer inspection of damaged revealed that the bumper behind the plate had been proper cracked and a chunk had fell in, as far as the licence plate tho it had a perfectly formed round indent were the towbar ball top had made impact, worse of it was I was selling the car in a week sooooooooo....

off came the plate, apoxy'ed the crack shut (would be nicely hidden behind the plate afterwards), then dropped the plate into a red hot bath for a minute so the new fangled plate sticker (most new cars have stickers for plates nowadays) started to peel away then rammed it into the fridge so the plastic would rapid shrink and eventually create a visually undamaged plate :D

naturally.....I didnt tell the dodgy second hand dealer I sold it too :pancake:

btw, your temp sensor is attached to the upper grill , might have yanked the leads out :thumb:

Had a lad once hit my Mondeo tow bar while I was sat at the traffic lights, he was going too fast and on his phone!. He did hit with some pretty hard impact to be honest and left him self with a good few repairs to do since it went straight through. I had my family in the car so I wasnt too pleased - he was obviously in daddys summer sports car as well.

started off from stationary, we were not driving fast. as for the temp sensor Shaw, its in the lower grille, after looking closer, the wire has snapped where the grill has yanked off from the impact :(

lol with this whiplash Shite, the impact would have been small for that damage. annoying people who claim like that should get lashed with a bull whip!

No damage to his at all..... I assured my insurance company that I use to work in claims myself and know FACT that the pain rarely if at all develops that quick.... nor would he Jault from such a slow impact enough to hurt his neck.. they said they are going to look into it :)

If the guy is lying about injury then poor show, but to call him a w@nker is a bit cnutish considering he was just driving along when someone decided to drive into the back of his car.

Doubt I'd be over the moon.

well thats my opinion to call him a w@nker because he is more than likley lying about his injury..... therefore. he IS a w@nker.

You believe that he's lying about an injury.

Congratulations on your medical degree. Shame you and your buddy couldn't apply the same concentration to driving (and subsequently stopping) a car that you did to your many years of studying to become a doctor.

whatever, I can drive perfectly well, my first accident in 3 years, a lot better than most drivers nowadays.... It was just a simple mistake of not stopping in time, he slammed on because of the car in front not even moving... as someone posted earlier, lesson learnt to look ahead more than just the car in front.
