vorn_182
and noticed one of those clips that they put on when putting new tyres on has come off! What does this do? and is it dangerous to not have it? It left behind a nice scratch going half way around the rim! gutted!
Pete
Only thing I can think of is weights for when they balanced the wheel If its one of them take it back to the garage and show them
vorn_182
Could it be why my car is seriously pulling to the left? I thought the tracking was seriously out!
damien
hmm. sounds to me like a tire weight. go down to your local tyre centre and get em to put them all on the inside of the rim.looks much better than having them stuck on the outside of the rim, and like you say, it does scratch the alloys! Pete
One weight wouldnt make that much difference, get the tracking checked aswell
vorn_182
is there anyway of touching up the alloy without refurbing it?
vorn_182
Just swapped the fronts over and it pulls to the right now so the weight is making a massive difference!
Mk6 Si Ross
Hope the tyres aren't directional
John
Just swapped the fronts over and it pulls to the right now so the weight is making a massive difference! a wheel weight won't make the car pull in any direction, all the lack of the wheel weight will result in is steering wobble , i'd say the pulling is probably either a unevenly worn tyre or something wrong with the rim. i really can't see it being all down to a weight
The Shaunster
mine pulls the the left too and also my steering wheels shecks total bad when i get some speed up
John
mine pulls the the left too and also my steering wheels shecks total bad when i get some speed up well then first off get the tracking checked on it, will cost about 30 quid to get it done properly and believe me it'll soon save u that in worn out tyres. tracking could be whats making the vibration too but if it doesn't stop when the tracking is done then get the wheels balanced, i think it'll probably cost about 20 quid.
