Mike C
Would it be ok 2 lower 60mm on a gmax supersport lowering kit?I'm always hearing that 2 go 4 a 60mm drop can be dodgy on suspect springs, but with a full kit, i reckon it should be ok. am i right 2 think this? paulr83
if its a full kit it will be fine. Only trouble is u will wear the inside of your tyres much quicker cos u are affecting the camber!! Will also put more stress on bearings, driveshafts, brake hoses etc. Thats why i have only gone 35mm on koni adjustables!
DanSi16v
mine is dropped 60mm and no problems yet
John
Will also put more stress on bearings, driveshafts, brake hoses etc. Thats why i have only gone 35mm on koni adjustables! not meaning to sound funny or anything now but how is changing the springs gonna effect the wheel bearings, drive shafts and brake hoses? the bearings and drive shafts are all unsprung anyway so there isn't going to be much difference there and as for the brake hoses well they are flexi with enough to be able to allow for the drop. paulr83
because of the ride being alot stiffer than normal, any bump has to be absored. Usually the spring does it, but as its stiff the shock get passed onto other componants like bearings etc! With lowering too much the driveshafts will sit further out than normal causing them to wear in the non normal way and the brake pipes may be flexi, but they are given slack so they can move up and down, if they are sitting higher up, cos the car is lowered making u brakes sit higher than normal if u get me, they can be at there limit! John
ok u kinda have a point about the drive shafts sitting different but it really ain't gonna be massive. as for the bearings though, all the shocks are first transmited through the hub before they are dampened out by the strut anyway. brake pipes........well with lowering it u r gonna limit the movement anyway so they aren't gonna have to travel as far due to the shortened travel of the damper. god i'm in a picky mood tonight!
