vorn_182
I doubt that very much, you would have millions of Escorts and dodgy K reg Fiesta's in the dealerships every week! I thought it was three years myself!

Al
On a serious note *serious head on*, when i had my escort Si MK6, the top of the wheel arch is the place for escorts to go due to a moisture trap under the beading inside the quater panel. If you have the first sign of rust, or ideally no rust as yet here's what to do.Open your tailgate, remove boot floor carpet and the quater panel trims too.You can now access the inner arch from inside,......spray lots and lots of WD40 where the curve of the arch meets the outer panel, you'll see the 'beading'(sealer) i mentioned. The WD40 will flow around the arch until it leaks out of the sill drain and on the floor outside(below the rear door).Next buy a can of spray waxoyl (clear or black) spray this waxoyl in the same place as the WD40, until it too emerges from the sill & boot floor. The reason you need to use WD40 first is because the waxoyl is not 'fluid' enough to flow properly into all the cavities that the water can,the WD40 helps the waxoyl to flow.If your Escort has not yet started to rust, then for 1 hours work + £10 materials, i think it is very worth while. Also even if yours has started, it will halt any rust from spreading. It worked well on my Si.......remember on the escort arches it rusts from the INSIDE out. John
bttt the anti rust guarantee is 6 years and not worth the paper it's printed on at the moment! some of you might remember the problems i had a month or so back with my tailgate rusting, they just don't wanna know unless the car is like a year old

dansGTI
i think GhiaX1.8i has seen my Fiesta SI, well how about this. The floor is coming out, the sills have about 12 holes in each side, the arches are GONE. the car is an M reg, (i bought it 6 months ago for £300) and has done a genuine 50k. Why?? the person that owned it before me lived near the seaside and never washed it...... i think he used it as a ships anchor or something. Quick car tho. its goin to the scrappy on Wed GTi is rust free!! he he
