Posted September 26, 200915 yr i have a mk6 escort cabriolet 1996 and i have thrown away the rear drum beam for a mk5 rs2k disc beam. But having trouble with what hand brake cable to use i bought a mk6 one but that was for rear drums so that is no good. Just tried buying a mk5 rs2k one but have to wait till next weekend for it to arrive, but just been told the mk5 one wont fit and all mk6 where on drums except 4x4 and was told that they dont fit? if anyone can clear this up for me before i end up with a shed full of handbrake cables that would be great.
September 26, 200915 yr some mk6's had the disk beam! early 2wd ones, 4x4 and late 2wd ones had larger drums

September 27, 200915 yr The best bet is to get a rev number of a car that came with rear discs from the factory, I got mine from motormania it was listed as a cosworth one, I told him that it had rectangular ends and he phoned and confirmed it
