So what exactly is the difference between a hatchback rear beam and an estate one?

why wouldn't an RS2000 hatchback beam fit on an estate?

not sure why it wouldnt, but im sure mr mattys rs disc'd hubs would fit that he's selling.

Hmm...so you can take the hubs from the beam and swap them over?
aye, but the focus hubs make the wheels stick out a little more
i believe so, ask mr matty, i think it basically swaps the hubs to the focus rs hubs, only diff is your wheels stick out a tadge more.

I know it's pointless but can you have big back brakes? Can't help notice that most look puny?
think you might be rite kev, are the disc sizes not slightly different tho?
yeah, focus RS rear disk is either 260mm OR 280mm, standard rear disk on a focus is 220mm

So in effect I could have 280mm back brakes from a focus RS? The hub bolted on to an escort beam?

yes, have a look on mr mattys for sale thread. :)

he had 300mm up front and focus rs at the rear and it looked the dogs behind cossie wheels.
