I was thinking of lowering my car 40mm (so still sensible) but then stripping it out....pretty much completely.

But when it came to selling it would I find it harder to see it and/or would I have to sell it even cheaper than Escorts are currently worth ?

well, would you buy a car with nothing in it?

every car is worth more standard than modified so if you was looking to sell, youd get more standard than modified. i wouldt strip it out, it would be noisy, annoying and un-livable with

edited kev.

but kevs rite it'd go for less...saying that you could either keep the parts or buy them later on for not alot, a standard interior for a mk6 is worth zippo really so go for it....but why? are you going for a track look or something? and when you say nearly everything wht do you mean?

seats, carpets, dash, passenger seats, heater/heater matrix, soundproofing or just the back seats and maybe carpet?

and in a 5 door? might look a bit odd? unless its a sleeper of course witha big bhp engine :P

Waste of time tbh

Yes it might make it feel a bit quicker, but is it worth it on a baby engined car?

Will make it noisey and not very pleasant. And with all the weight gone out of the back, it might handle a bit oddly. I did it for a laugh to one once before I weighed it in and it was so skittish, it was just horrible, felt really unstable as the suspension wasn't right for it.

But, it will ultimately make it worth less in my view. You're massively restricting your potential market, as 99.9% of people don't want a stripped out car, unless it's something special, and has all the rest to go with it, power/suspension/brakes etc etc

not had issues with handleing in mine being stripped out really, i understand why tho, vans are the same when unloaded.

there is a very minimal gain i agree but sometimes something is better than nothing...it also stops people wanting lifts :D

mines having a cage...if the lad ever gets back to me that is...must message him as he has my £...

the current EVO opinion of standard being worth more than modified is very misleading and very wrong

Liam, no disrespect, but as a basic model Escort owner, put resale value to the back of ya mind buddy, it aint worth worrying about fella :) JUst enjoy it and do what ya wanna do

If I was to do it it wouldn't be on that little 1.4 parked outside, it would be on my next zetec(?).

Just bored I think

It's Liam by the way, just realised i'm logged in as Aaron

Just do it man... Who gives a fook.. Its your car.. so its a poxy lil engine... but it would look good...

Maybe kit it out like a little living room with all the space you will have... That would be nice...

if i had spare cash space and time id love a big sound/screen install for a giggle but id get bored as id always wanna drive the faster/better handleing car lol

im having mine half stripped.

lighter bucket seats up front with carpet and dash etc no seats/doorcards or carpet in the back but am keeping speakers as i like my music and hopefully my half roll cage :)

Spot on that man

Just do what I did Liam, keep everything somewhere clean, dry and safe and put it back in when you want to sell.

yours always makes me chuckle ross, stripped out racer to save weight - but a sub and amp in the back for good measure! why not leave the carpet in? make the insides look a lil decent rather than welds and bare metal?
But... When he is ready to shift it... are you realy gonna sell it or trade it in for 2 grand?
